With Valentine's Day arriving in the next few days, it's time that I start thinking about getting my wife a gift. Usually, I forget all about it until the day of Valentine's and run to the store with every other forgetful male attempting to scrounge the best looking flowers.
I recently purchased a single rose for my wife as she sang in her first singing lesson recital. I know it wasn't some grand performance, but she was really nervous, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to show how much I cared by giving her some flowers. Trying to find a flower during the early part of December was not easy. I hid the flower in my coat until it was time for her to sing. When she finished singing, I sent my three-year old son up to the stage to present her with the flower. He was so excited that he threw the flower at my wife as she was walking off the stage. This Valentine's gift will need to be a little more thought out than that fiasco.
